Two Highland Yard Runners Entered for Gulfstream Sunday

Highland Yard has two runners slated for Sunday at Gulfstream Park in Florida. We are hopeful that racing will go off as scheduled as we have legit chances in both races.

Just for One Day after a long layoff has been training exceptionally well and will likely be post time favorite in this field of Maidens. He has shown immense talent and if he fires on Sunday he should win. Our first choice would have been a dirt race but given none were upcoming have decided on this spot. Leading jockey Irad Ortiz was slated to ride but he has decided to suspend riding during the current Covid-19 pandemic. Which ever replacement jockey we find should be in for nice paycheck. Just for One Day will break from post 7 of 7 in this turf sprint.

He Iz Gone will break from post 3 of 7 in the 6 1/2 furlong State Bred Allowance going off as Race 7. Apprentice rider Gaddiel Martinez gets the mount and the 7 pound weight allowance. He Iz Gone will need to revert to his form of December after a brief freshening to pull off the win. It is a closely matched competitive race and He Iz Gone will need to finish well, something he has struggled to do.

Lets hope we get to see both of these athletes on Sunday
