Venetian Harbor Sets Sights on Kentucky Oaks

Venetian Harbor dominated a field of 3 year old fillies in the Grade II Las Virgenes Stakes at Santa Anita last Saturday. Deftly ridden by Flavien Prat, Venetian went straight to the front, settled in early and allowed her competitors to catch up on the backstretch. It was at the top of the stretch she left them in the dust extending her lead to 9 lengths at the wire under minimal urging.

Her display of dominance has us dreaming of running for the Lillies on May 1st at Churchill Downs. With this goal in mind she is likely to make her next start in either the Santa Ysabel (March 8) or the Santa Anita Oaks (April 4).
