2023 Year in Review
It was always going to be tough replacing the purse winnings of our stalwart racehorse Snicket who was retired in 2023 after a third place finish in the What a Summer Stakes. Snicket was sold in foal at the November sale for $240,000.
Although purse winnings were down compared to 2022 we had some very exciting results indeed. Topping it all was Snellen’s victory in the Chesham Stakes at Royal Ascot. We have had many thrills in this wonderful sport but surely a homebred Royal Ascot Stakes winner is at the top. Snellen’s speed and courage was on display as she beat 16 horses to claim the trophy.

Highland Yard had additional success in Europe courtesy of Consort Royal. Consort Royal was purchased in France as a Yearling and is trained by Nicolas Clement in Chantilly. Consort Royal had two wins in Evreux and Lyon and seems to have found her best distance routing. We look forward to seeing her back at the races in January.
We think we are well positioned to build on last years performance with a number of debuting horses scheduled for 2024 joining Snellen, Highland Ghost, Tesoro and Consort Royal.
Happy New Year!
