Highland Ghost to Stakes Race

Off his three length victory to break his maiden last out, Highland Ghost drew the inside post for the $75,000 Nevin Stakes at Pleasanton on July 10.

Nothing is more exciting than having a two-year old stakes horse and we are anxious to see what he can do in a big field of nine horses next Saturday. It looks like a wide open affair primarily because we don’t know the ceiling on these young racehorses. For his part, Highland Ghost had a scintillating work yesterday working 4 furlongs in 47 and 3/5ths seconds fastest of 77 on the day.

Two invaders from Southern California and seven last-out winners will make this a very contentious affair.
