Wee Highland Lass
It was a rare and special day for the progeny of Wee Highland Lass. It is unusual for a mare to have two runners on the same day. It is a statistical anomaly for a mare to have two-winners on the same day at the same track! Wee Highland Lass achieved the feat when her 2 year-old son Highland Ghost and 4 year-old son Bottle of Smoke both won at Pleasanton Races on Saturday in Highland Yard silks.
Wee Highland Lass was retired this year after slipping (losing her foal) two years in a row. She went through a retraining program as a lesson horse in Davis with the help of Hope for Horses. According to Anita Markiewicz she has a been nick-named “Highley” and is thriving in her new environment. Extra carrots for Highley tonight!
