Busy Weekend for Highland Yard Runners

Highland Yard has three serious runners this weekend.

Two-year old Highland Ghost opens up the calendar Saturday at Pleasanton in race 4. He will start from post 5 in maiden allowance company and has been installed 3-1 second favourite. Highland Ghost, ridden by top jockey Kyle Frey had a five-wide run on debut and still managed a second place finish. He will be favored by post time and should require all the beating.

Bottle of Smoke is next up at Pleasanton in race 7 and has been installed as 9/5 favourite after a strong second last out at this allowance level. Don’t be fooled, this is a very salty race and any of five of the starters could take the prize. Bottle of Smoke should be running late.

Snicket has been installed as 3-1 favourite in a full field of allowance turf runners Sunday at Belmont Park. Junior Alvarado gets the mount after guiding Snicket to her recent two second place finishes. If she runs to form, Snicket should be there or thereabouts when they hit the wire. Snicket is in fine fettle and according to assistant trainer Miguel Clement has never looked better. Her photo below.
